You can start the Wijerstrail wherever you want! Choose one of the stage stops or set your own departure and end point. We will give you some alternative stage stops and tips:
Public transport
- Are you travelling by train? Then it is best to leave from Bokrijk (Genk) or ZLDR Luchtfabriek (Heusden-Zolder). These stages are located near the train station. The stations Diepenbeek and Zonhoven are also close to the Wijerstrail.
- By bus? A bus stops at every stage.
By Car
By car you can park for free in several places. You can find all parkings on the trail map.
The Wijerstrail with overnight stay
Our Wijerstrail partners along the route will welcome you with open arms after a long day of walking. Of course, you can choose where you want to spend the night: at a luxury wellness B&B or would you rather stay in a tent at the campsite? It's all possible. We have already worked out a few example routes with overnight stay for you.
Various accommodations offer the option of bringing your luggage to the next overnight stay. Or they will pick you up at the end of the day's stage to take you back to your sleeping place. The choice is yours. You can find out which partners offer these options at the Wijerstrail partners.
